Did you know that Baking Soda, or it's technical term, Sodium Bicarbonate has been around since the 1700's? A French chemist by the name of Nicolas LeBlanc produced Baking soda in 1791. In 1846, two New york Bakers establish the first factory to develop baking soda for what most of us use it now, and that's for baking!
Ahh, but enough of the history lesson, onto the good stuff!!!
Here are 8 Beauty Tips for Baking Soda
_________________________
1) - Teeth Whitening.
For that bright smile, brush teeth with a pinch of Baking Soda & table salt.
It even acts as a mouthwash, helping to eliminate bad breath.
Gargling with Baking Soda & water also helps heal mouth sores.
2) - Pampered Feet.
2 Tbsp of Baking Soda with 1Tbsp of salt into a basin of hot water.
Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes. It gently removes dirt and dead skin for those tired footies. And for extra scrubbing power, make a paste of Baking Soda and water and run the bottom of your feet to remove those tough dry patches.
3) - Dry Shampoo.
Sprinkle a pinch of Baking Soda onto your hair brush and run through your hair, concentrating on the roots, and the Baking Soda will absorb all the excess oils.
4) - Nail Care.
Apply a couple of sprinkles of Baking Soda to your nail brush and use on finger nails & toe nails to clean and buff the nails as well as soften your cuticles.
5) - Sunburn & Insect Bites.
Make a paste of a pinch of Baking Soda & a couple drops of water.
It cools & helps the affected area(s) for quick relief and faster healing.
6) - Product Residue.
Got some hair product build up weighing your hair down?
Add 1/2 tsp to your shampoo and the Baking Soda will gently remove all that build up.
7) - Revitalize & Smooth Skin.
For all those tough, dry patches of skin, such as elbows, hands & knees,
mix 3 parts Baking Soda to 1 part water to form a thick paste.
Apply in a gentle circular motion to the area, rinse & apply a moisturizing lotion & your skin is left feeling soft & supple.
8) - Microdermabrasion.
A pinch of Baking Soda mixed with 1-2 pumps of your favorite Facewash once or twice a week and it will replace any and ALL your microdermabrasion products.
So, the next time you walk past the pantry,
stop and grab for this little yellow wonder,
you may be pleasantly surprised,
and your wallet will thank you too!

I use this once a month for microderm-abrasion, it is awesome, how smooth your skin feels after wards. Great post!
I love baking soda! I am no-poo and BS is my "shampoo" and my hair has never been better. It also cleans things way better than chemical cleaners (like the spots on my stove that I scrubbed for months that it removed in 2 minutes).
Thanks for the tips.I knew there was one for nails!
