Candy Stripes

I know everyone is in full swing
with the holidays and their Christmas mani's
but I just couldn't help but squeeze this last
gem in before I go all ho - ho - holiday!

CANDY STRIPES!

I'm such a sucker for pretty girlie shades,
and I've been a huge light pink kick in particular.

So I started with a light pink base color,
China Glaze in Dance Baby

Once dried,
I cut several pieces of nail art striping tape
placing them onto the nail in a horizontal stripe pattern.

Using the following 3 shades,
Barry M. in Mint Green
Orly in Purple Crush
Color Club in Disco Dress
and a sponge,
I sponged the colors onto the whole nail, over the tape.
Then removed the tape, applied a top coat and vola!

YUMMY!
It reminds me of
something Katy Perry would wear, and SO I'm loving it in all this
sea of Red & Green!

A Whole Lottta Awesomeness!

With the holiday season upon us,
like so many others I've been swamped with
holiday cooking, shopping etc.

So I never did anything special for my nails for
Thanksgiving :( OH, THE HORROR!

So to make up for it, I decided to knock it out of the park,
holo style!

This look is acheived with 3 amazing colors and scotch tape!

I started with Layla Hologram Effect in  Ultra Violet as my base

Then Enchanted Polish in Awesomeness, which is one of
the best purple holos ever!

And lastly  Gallery Colours in Purple Sparkle

If you love purple, this is a wicked combination to try!
YUM!

It was a bit overcast outside so I wasn't able to
capture the true vibrancy of this amazing combo,
but here it is non the less

Holy Holo Fishnets, Batman!

I LOVE holographic polishes, I mean, who doesnt, right?
But seriously, I'm borderline obsessed with having them all,
so naturally when Color Club announced their
Halo Hues collection, I was all over that!

The overall intensity of this collection is really awesome and
the first shade to stick out for me was
Halo-graphic, a gorgeous soft pink.

So I decided to grab for it with this weeks mani.

As my base I used China Glaze in QT, from another
great holo collection, OMG collection.
Then I sponged down the center of each nail with Color Club's Halo-graphic.

I then topped it off with a fishnet stamp from the X-large Cheeky stamping plate B and,
VOILA!

China Glaze QT and Color Cub Halo-graphic

I'm seriously in love with my fingers right now.

HOLO-RRIFIC!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

There's just no way I could not rock out at least
1 Nightmare Before Christmas mani for Halloween this year,
so what better way to celebrate Halloween day with this
Jack Skellington mani!

Black nails with white stripes, achieved with
Wet n Wild's Black Creme & L.A.Colors Art Deco nail striper in Black

For the accent nail I started with Essie's Marshmallow,
topped it with Pure ICE in Don't You Wish
and then with a Migi nail art pen, I simply drew Jack!

I don't know how much success we'll have today with
Trick-or-treating, since my area was hit very hard with
Hurricane Sandy, but we'll give it a shot anyway, and Jack
will be coming with me to keep me company!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday!!

I'm Rocking This Leopard....Hard!

Hey everyone!
I've got another great Fall mani today...
have I mentioned that I adore Fall?

Stepping away from the Halloween themes
for a moment, I can never resist a cute animal print mani!

Excuse my poor little nubbins,
my hands take so much abuse that my nails have
been breaking like crazy!
But hey, still no reason not to rock out a cute mani, right?

My base color is Essie's School Of Hard Rocks
the leopard spots are Milani's Key West
I created the print using Sinful Colors Nail Art Striper in Black
and topped it off with a coat of Out The Door top coat

I really could kick myself, as I got a little too eager to finish off
the look and placed the top coat too quickly on my pinky...
the result, a sweet little smudge-fest :/
Lesson Learned.
But the rest of it turned out killer, and I'll probably end of re-doing the pinky.

I am obsessing over School Of Hard Rocks, this color is just SO me.
And the color combo is wicked,
I love it so much that I know I'm going to use it again on
some sort of different nail art.

What new shades are you obsessing with this Fall?

Candy Corn Crackle

Today I've got another
simple but very festive mani,
Candy Corn Crackle!

I started with a White base, using Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Then I did a sponge gradient of Orange & Yellow 1/3 way down
the nail to create me candy corn.
I used a cosmetic sponge with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in
Sun Kissed and Mellow Yellow.

Once the gradient was dry, I applied a single layer of
Barry M.'s Instant Nail Effects crackle polish in Black.

I topped it off with 1 coat of Gelous top coat,
followed by Out The Door top coat,
because the crackle really does soak up alot of top coat.
I could probably even have used a 2nd coat.

I know most are over the crackle look,
but I still really love my crackles and I loved the thought of using some for Halloween!

Saran Wrap Nails

Today I have Saran wrap nails!
This creative and simply technique
is hugely popular, but believe it or not,
this is my first time trying it out!

I decided to go with one of my favorite
color combinations, brown & turquoise.

I started with Sinful Colors in Nirvana
a delicious milk chocolate brown cream.
While waiting for it to dry, I tore up small pieces of Saran
wrap and crumpled them up.

I topped it off with China Glaze in Aquadelic,
one of the best minty turquoise creams out there in my opinion.
While its freshly wet, I took a piece of the crumpled
Saran wrapand lightly dabbed it onto my nail, creating an
almost soft crackle finish.
LOVE IT!

Here's the end result.

Super cute and EASY!
Have you tried Saran wrap nails yet?
What kind of color combinations have you tried?

Autumn Dotticure

YAY!
My first "Autumn" mani of the season.
If anyone knows me, they are well aware of
my massive love for not only Autumn,
but for Halloween!
So I'm excited to share the first official
Autumn themed mani.

Taking a cue from A Girl and Her Polish
and her gorgeous dotticure seen here
I imitated her same look, but just changed up the colors.

My base is NYX Girls polish in - Perfect Gray

Then using assorted sized dotting tools, I made the dots
using these colors

Sinful Colors in - Snow Me White
Sally Hansen, Xtreme Wear in - Sun Kissed
Wet & Wild, Wild Shine in - Black Creme

A simple look, but I love it all the same!

I'm Kinda Clairvoyant

WOW, I've been gone for ages, haven't I?

In the last few weeks, I've been recovering from surgery,
launching a new polish collection,
and getting ready to move....so to say the least,
it's been insane over here!
I do hate neglecting my blog readers though, so I will try to be
more consistent with my posts.

And speaking of post, I've got a new one for you today!

I am one of those poor souls that was way too slow
to be fortunate to grab the ever elusive,
Cult Nails Clairvoyant aka Unicorn Puke.
I weep silently every time I see a post or pic with this
breathtaking polish.

And so while I am still hunting for a bottle that won't cost me
a car payment, I decided to experiment with
a few different toned flakie polishes to see if I could
capture the look of Clairvoyant.

I started with a single coat of Color Club's Disco Dress
a vibrant violet purple.
Then, a single layer of Max Factor's, Fantasy Fire.
Then I used 3 different flakie polishes,
lightly applied.
INLGOT #205
Essie Luxe Effect in Shine Of The Times
&
Picture Polish in Festival

Here is the and result

An exact dupe?
No, I wouldn't say that, but it does capture the same look as
Clairvoyant and for the moment it's satified my craving for
this amazing polish.

What do you think?

Just A Little Update

WOW,
where the heck have I been?

So sorry for not posting as of late,
but I have been very busy house hunting,
and I am also having surgery in a couple of days.

So I will continue to be MIA for at least another
week at which time I plan to come back with some
Halloween goodies!!

Until then, enjoy your weekend &
keep painting those beautiful nails!

My Current Favorite Pink

I love every color imaginable,
truly I do.
But there is just something about Pink.

Is it the natural association with all things girly that makes
me love the color so?

What ever the case may be, I think Pink is the one color,
at least for me,
that each varying shade, evokes are different reaction,
whether it be a soft baby Pink ( Aw, so sweet!),
or a shocking neon Pink (Hot Mama!)
 they all show a
different version of "girly" to me.

My current favorite Pink is a what most commonly refer to as
Barbie Pink.
A sugary sweet vibrant bubble gum Pink shade.
This shade looks so amazing on tanned summer toes,
YUMMY!

Color Club hit it out of the park with Peppermint Twist.
Seriously, if you love Pink, this is a MUST-HAVE in your collection.
My pics don't do it justice.

(excuse the rough cuticles, my poor hands have taken a beating as of late

Me love you longtime Color Club.

DELISH!

Nancy's Birthday - Whimsical Ideas By Pam

The first polish that I ever saw from Whimsical Ideas By Pam,
was Suess. When I did, I quickly tracked her down to her Facebook page
where I then proceeded to fall in love with every single one of her polishes.
And though my wallet didn't approve of me getting them all,
I did settle on 5 of them.

Peanut Butter & Jelly
Suess
Saturday Morning Cartoons
Kismet's Pajamas
Nancy's Birthday

I'm thrilled with them all, and her labels & little bows on her bottles are
completely adorable!

First up is Nancy's Birthday

Nancy's Birthday is a creamy sheer bubblegum Pink, loaded with a
variety of mulit-colored & sized hexagons.

MMMMM Pink glitter sandwich!
If you are a Pink lover, this is a must-have.

This is 1 coat of Nancy's Birthday over China Glaze Dance Baby
The application was a breeze!
SO pretty!

Pam's polishes retail for $10. each and can be purchased through
her Facebook page here.

Happy Independence Day!

What do you do when you can't decide between
gradient, stamped, or glitter nails for your holiday manicure?

You choose all three!

I started with Wet n Wild's French White Creme,
applied a single coat of Dollish Polish It's A Me, Mario!
And then sponged  Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue & All Fired Up on
my tips, alternating the colors on each nail.

Lastly, using Konad plate M3, I stamped silver stars along the
side of each gradient, using Barry M. Instant Nail Effects in Silver Foil

It's raining tons over here on the Eat Coast today,
so who knows if I'll make that BBQ, but at least
my nails look good!

Happy July 4th all you fellow Americans!
