Find a job you love....

My mother has given me loads of advice of the course of my life. Some has fallen on deaf ears,...ok, ok, most of it.  But some has been truly a goldmine of knowledge.
1 such piece of advice she told me was...

" Find what you love most in this world,
then find a way to make money doing it! "

That little gem still sits with me.
But I'm getting ahead of myself....onto the blog!

Mention the word, PlayDough to my mother and she will go into a 30 minute babble about how I, as a young child( 6-8 yrs. old) used to make the most wonderful miniature food with my PlayDough. Bacon & Eggs, ice cream, hamburgers, and my favorite, birthday cake. I really couldn't tell you why I've always had a love an fascination with making these little mini goodies. But, what I can tell you is that the love has never died. When I see a container of Playdough, I light up & giggle like a 3 yr. old.

My daughter, who just turned 10 has really been into these miniature food jewelry pieces lately. I bought a necklace for her with a smiling marshmallow and the moment I saw it, all those giddy feelings came back in a "whoosh"
I quickly found out what type of clay was used, etc...and ran to my nearest Michael's . The clay is pretty cheap, so you know I had to buy just about every color they make....yeah, no one can ever complain about me doing a half-ass way of anything. It's either all or nothing with me LOL

I had a bit of down time this morning, so I pulled out the clay with my daughter eagerly peering over my shoulder. As per her request, this what I made for her.

It was pure innocent joy that I felt while making these.
Somehow, I know that a pile of these gems will grow quite rapidly, and with that, perhaps a new business will bloom?
My mother's words quickly ran back into my head, and I couldn't help but think...

  Should I sell these?

What do YOU think?

Birthday Goodies...

Well, I had a great birthday yesterday. I received some really nice presents, but none as nice and unexpected as the goodies I got from my best friend,Elaine. I unwrapped my present & began grinning with childish glee.

I really don't have any idea how she knew that I wanted these polishes so badly, but then again, maybe it was about the 1,001 time that I mentioned these beauties that gave her a clue.

I've seen so many swatches of these, on blog after blog talking about how incredible these colors were but you really cannot appreciate them until they are in your actual hands.
Sadly, no matter how hard I tried, my camera couldn't capture the true essence of these magical colors.
These polishes are not sold in the U.S., sadly it is extremely hard to find them anywhere! To my knowledge they can be purchased from 1 site & that is where my gf found these.

fabuloustreet.com

Nfu-Oh's #51 , it's their top seller.
And it's so obvious why.
Duo-Chrome? Nope, try quadruple-chrome.
This color is insane.
Purple base, with an  iridescent flecks of red, green and blue.
Truly an orgasm in a bottle.

Nfu-Oh # 52
Blue/purple base with flecks of green.
This isn't your run of the mill kind of glitter, no way.
They are random size flecks of sparklely goodness.
Uh-huh....another orgasmic color.

Nfu-Oh's #554
This is a brilliant purple creme.
Glides on like your best silk nightie.
Oh yeahhhh.

Nfu-Oh's # 169
The palest of Perwinkles.
Wow, incredible creamy color.

I've yet to swatch these on my actual nails,
but just staring at these bottles under the light
makes me feel in need for a very cold shower.
I'm drooling on myself just posting these pics.
If you can get your hands on these,
I highly, HIGHLY recommend them.

Burning down the house!

Yup. today I celebrate another birthday....or should I say 1 year closer to 40.
YIKES!
Yes, the bonfire you see is my cake that is literally gonna burn down the house!
Guess I shouldn't bitch,
some ppl would be happy to have another birthday, and they are right.
It's just a number, I'm thankful that I'm here and I'm surrounded by loved ones.
Hope it's gonna be a good day!

Konad - M60

I was bored last nite & so I started playing around with my Konad. Came up with this simple look.

The base is Essie's "Mint Candy Apple" & the flowers are with Sally Hansen's "Commander in Chic" I added a dark brown dot in the center of the flowers and a couple of random white dots around the edges of the flowers. I used plate M60
