Vintage Ornaments

I've got a big soft spot for vintage ornaments.
The classic designs, painted glass, muted colors, and the memories attached to them, really make adore these gems.
My grandmother, being 93, has some incredibly gorgeous ornaments from the 1940's

This design is inspired by one particular set that has always
captured my attention ever since I was a child.
I'd sit in front of her tree and admire the lights bouncing
off these beautiful works of art.

Alas, my grandmother in her older years has since stopped
with her holiday decorations, so I don't have a photo of them,
but I know they are packed away safely, and
one day perhaps I'll convince her to give them to me.
Until then, I tried to capture the look in this design.

China Glaze in - Fairy Dust

Broadway Nails Holiday Giveaway***CLOSED***

I'm sure you've passed by a Broadway Nail display in the store
on many occasions and thought,
I wonder if those are any good?

Well, I am an expert in this area,
as I have been using them for years and
I am a true fan of their nails and I can tell you,
they are VERY good indeed!
The infamous "press-on" nail has come a long way baby!
Broadway Nails is always improving their products and coming out with new and fun designs.
So this is what you get in a typical case of Broadway nails:
24 pre-designed nails or varying sizes for the perfect fit
a tube of nail glue
an orange stick
and for certain sets, a small nail file
These sets run anywhere from
$4 - $7 depending on your area and sales

The instructions are simple, and printed on the back of every box

Prep your nails first, taking a cotton ball dipped in acetone polish remover to get rid of any dirt and excess oils.

Next, using the provided orange stick, push back cuticles

Select the correct size nails for each finger

Apply a drop of provided nail glue to the
nail bed and to the back of the false nail

Starting at the cuticle, slide nail into place,
pressing and holding down for 5 seconds to
eliminate bubbles and to ensure a good bond

Continue with the remainder of the nails, and you are done!

This literally takes less than 10 minutes!

I really adore the Fast French sets the best,
when you are in a pinch, and want nice looking nails,
but just don't have the time to get them done or do them yourself,
these are the best way to go.

Here's just a quick look at me applying the Fast French nails

Opening the box, and preparing my station

Selecting the correct nails for each finger.

*Note*
Some designs, including the French manicure
had numbered tabs, that not only help you identify
which number you need for each nail, but also allow
for easy grip when applying.

Adding each nails following the instructions.

Snapping off the tabs and using the provided
nail file for any rough edges.

All Done!

They call it the 10 minute manicure, but it was even less than that!

Usually, I'd never rave and encourage any of my readers
to try a product, but I really believe in Broadway Nails!

I always have them in the house,
when ever I don't have the time to do one of my own designs,
I grab for a box of these.

Quality - Price - Speed

Really is there any more to ask for?

Because I love Broadway Nails so much,
I've asked if they would allow me to spread the word,
and they have been gracious enough to offer
one of you to try a whole array of products in this amazing

Shop Update-Adressing The Concerns

Many of you have contacted me regarding a recent post from a fellow blogger regarding my new shop, Painted Lady Fingers.

As many of you know, I have been hard working on,
and have recently announced my latest en-devour,
my new shop, Painted Lady Fingers,
which carries an array of my hand painted nail designs and nail supplies.
I chose this name for no other reason than I thought it unique
and wanted to stand out from other Etsy shops
carrying similar merchandise as myself.
Unbeknownst to me, there is a blog, which many of you follow,
by this same name.
I love the nail blog community, and everyone in it,
but one thing to say, is that we are many!
Though I know and enjoy SO many of you,
there are still SO many of you I've yet to discover
and contrary to the belief of some, Diana's blog is one of
many I've yet to come across.

I would NEVER do something so malicious and so utterly disrespectful
as to take someone else's name, regardless of what purpose I chose to use it for.
I take the blame myself, as I checked with Etsy to make sure there were no shops by this name, or remotely close to this name, but I did fail to do a larger search outside of the Etsy community.

While I am bothered and deeply upset for being accused
of something that I did NOT do,
namely THEFT,
not to mention it was in complete poor taste for a
public"stoning"
without ever contacting me.
I will still be polite and respectful during this situation.

While Diana has no rights to the name
Painted Lady Fingers
and I have every legal right to use it,
I've decided out of respect,
that I will indeed change the name.
I am currently speaking with Etsy to work on getting
the name changed as soon as possible, or if all else fails,
I will simply close the shop, and re-start another.

I want to thank all of you for your concerns and for being so supportive, both to her and to myself.
